Spread over 70 acres near Salisbury, The Chalke Valley History Festival is the largest festival in the UK dedicated entirely to History. It will take place from 25 June – 1 July.
Offering a unique blend of talks from our most loved historians and TV personalities, alongside a vast living history through-the-ages encampment – ranging from medaeival knights to WWII soldiers and lots in between.
With air displays featuring historic aircraft, pop-up history events, the fabulous Histroy Tellers, the WW1 Trench experience and even a (child friendly!) sword school.
This year hosts over 50 interactive living history events with a different kind of experiential history –demonstrating a number of activities from skills-at-arms, through to historic cookery recipes and techniques.
We are also thrilled to have Terry Pratchett’s Discworld team re-creating Terry’s office where he wrote his famous books right in the festival! They are also building an 18ft “Shed of Doom” and bringing along some Time-Travelling magicians for an award winning show.
The festival also includes a wide selection of stalls and street food, or fine dining fabulous food and drinks.
A great day out, fun and educational – a celebration of history like no other…
