YouTube had added abortion to a list of health and medical topics. This is declared on Thursday due to the misinformation after the baby formula and vaccines. Videos that contain false and promote alternative methods related to abortion are to be removed under this changed policy. The next few weeks would be dedicated to removing those contents that provide erroneous information about the methods of abortion. YouTube’s medical misinformation policy will remove videos under this category.
YouTube claims that people should rely on the content that has claims counsel from health officials. It will also provide important to lead people to those content which comes from authentic sources based on health topics. Information will be provided to the viewers based on local and global health ministries.
Abortion is the procedure to terminate pregnancy upon sanction from the National Library of Medicine. This procedure uses either surgery or medicine and this could only be performed by a health care professional gal who is having a licence. The YouTube panel is including a link for its viewers who want to learn more about the procedure. Instructions will also be provided to seek advice from the local medical authority.
Previously, YouTube has worked to ban those contents that pose a contradiction to the local health care organizations or WHO’s guidelines. This new policy of promoting alternative abortion methods is parallel to the chemical and surgical methods of abortions that were claimed as safe by health care organizations. Early this year promotions were added to YouTube, regarding the alternatives for breast milk or the commercial formula. This announcement made by YouTube comes into view after almost a month when the US Supreme Court cancelled the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. That explains abortion as a constitutionally proclaimed programme that will protect the right to privacy. The US states are free to legalize this law. Many Republican majority states have banned this law while the Democrats think passing a federal law to legalize it everywhere in the US.
