The British Summer Time is showing the England vs Croatia World Cup semi-final match in a huge screen on Wednesday at Hyde Park where more than 30,000 football fans can enjoy the match for free.
It has been announced this evening that The Lightning Seeds who co-wrote the England football anthem ‘Three Lions’, which has become the soundtrack to the current team’s success this summer will also perform before the screening of the big game.
According to the organizers, it will be the biggest London screening of a football match since Euro 96, where up to 30,000 free tickets will be available for the screening.
“There is huge demand but it is working and people will be able to apply until midnight,” a representative for BST’s organisers said.
London Mayor Khan said he was “thrilled” at the prospect of the screening and added, “Wednesday evening is a huge opportunity for our boys to do what many of us thought was impossible before the World Cup began and reach the Final.”
There’s no word yet on whether Baddiel & Skinner will join the band on stage to perform ‘Three Lions’, but hopefully they are going to rock the festival.
