Boris Johnson and his wife, Marina Wheeler, announce divorce after 25 years of marriage.
Former foreign secretary and the senior lawyer made the announcement in a joint statement after a story appeared on Friday detailing claims that they split after she accused him of cheating.
“Several months ago, after 25 years of marriage, we decided it was in our best interests to separate”
“As friends, we will continue to support our four children in the years ahead. We will not be commenting further”
Mr. Johnson and Ms. Wheeler have four children – Lara, 25, Milo Arthur, 23, Cassia Peaches, 21, and Theodore Apollo, 19.
Mr. Johnson, a Conservative MP who is currently the bookmakers’ favourite to succeed her as prime minister.
