If there’s another singer out there more consistent than Cristina Scabbia then please shout out their name now. This amazing Milanese has never missed a beat alongside co-vocalist Andrea Ferro in nearly a quarter of a century with the band. Black Amina is probably their finest work to date, certainly it encompasses the feel of Karmacode and Shallow Life which are often cited as fan favourites. There are spine tingling melodies on offer here that blend like coffee and cream with ethereal harmonies and a precise delivery. It’s a sumptuous affair. Just sit back and let yourself sink in.
