Billy Corgan the frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins has announced a virtual concert. This is to support the victims of the mass shooting that happened recently. The shooting took place in Highland Park, Illinois. The concert is scheduled on 27 July, Wednesday including ‘Together and Together Again’. It will happen at 8 p.m. CST and it will be live-streamed for free. The YouTube channel of Pumpkins will host the free live stream for this upcoming concert.

The concert will be hosted at Madame Zuzu’s. The concert will occupy Highland Park’s tea house and the performance space. Corgan runs this place along with his partner Chloé Mendel. This concert is for a noble purpose. The viewers will get an insight into the true reason for which the concert is being conducted. The viewers joining for the concert will be able to make donations. The donations can be made through the live stream. The merchandise includes tees and an artwork poster by Gary Baseman. All of this will be available on the event’s bespoke web store. The amounts earned in this process will be donated to the Highland Park Community Foundation.

Corgan’s video announcement stated that he had lived in Highland Park for 20 years. The place where his concert is organized is close to the shooting spot. The place was closed for a week as the devastation took place there itself. The FBI investigation made it remain close for a week. Corgan said the performance will feature appearances from Pumpkins. It will include the drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, the jazz saxophonist Frank Catalano and a litany of other. There will be special guests who remain yet unannounced.

Corgan is all up to help the shooting’s victims. Fall Out Boy responded to confirm a donation worth $100,000 to Everytown. Everytown is a non-profit organization that protests against gun violence and advocates for gun-control.
