Bangladesh Won ODI Series Outside Asia after 9 Years

After nine long years Bangladesh manage a 2-1 win in One Day International series outside Asia against West Indies yesterday.
After a outstanding century from Tamim Iqbal, some good bowling and work in the field coupled with the West Indies’ struggles in the middle overs, Bangladesh secured a somewhat nervy 18-run win in the series-deciding ODI in Basseterre.
Man of the Match and Series, Tamim Iqbal, says they did not have a great Test series but he has practiced hard and it has come off well. Ends by saying the wickets were not easy here and patience was the key.
“We struggled to put together a complete game. 300 was a par score here, and the bowlers did pretty well, but we didn’t bat in the middle overs. We lost momentum in the middle, but credit to Gayle and Rovman for giving us a chance, but we just weren’t able to tick over the scoreboard”, said the Loosing Captain Jason Holder.
Bangladesh posted 301 after Mashrafe Bin Mortaza had won the toss and opted to bat as opener Tamim Iqbal hit back at his critics and laid the platform with a fine century, his second in three games.
Mahmudullah continued the late surge, finishing the innings unbeaten on a 49-ball 67 that included five fours and three sixes to take Bangladesh past the 300-run mark.
The victory came after lots of struggle in second match of the series where the Bangladesh team lost due to a minor mistake. But at the end favor their luck and manage to earn the victory in the series.
