Why Israel Targets Palestinian Journalists?

A state funeral is arranged by the Palestinians for Shireen Abu Akleh– an experienced Palestinian American correspondent for Al Jazeera. She was found dead on Wednesday.

It was a fatal shot in the head. People are claiming that an Israeli sniper is responsible for the killing and that it was a systematic execution Abu Akleh, for nearly three decades, had been voicing the suffering of the people of Palestine.

The Politics

Israel is claiming that there is a possibility that Abu Akleh could be shot by the Palestinian instead. But later, in a statement, they claimed that they had no idea who killed her, though there have been other journalists who are claiming that she was shot by Israeli armies.

The Occupation

The Israeli occupation of Palestine is lethal and illegal. They shot journalists without any reason. The journalists wore their press uniforms, as well as the helmets with the “press” sign on them. They knew the difference between a journalist and their targets. But they chose to shoot her to make a political statement that they can do whatever they want.

The Lie

All the reports are against the Israeli attack but they are still lying and trying to cover up the systematic killing of Abu Akleh. There narrative is that there have been open fires in the area where she died. But, in reality, there was no firing except for the ones that had been shot by the Israeli snipers.

If an American Journalist were killed in Russia or Ukraine, we would have seen a different picture. Just because Abu Akleh was a Palestinian and killed by the Israeli forces, it seems to be nothing.
