Wednesday Wisdom: 5 Goodreads for this season!

It is time to enjoy the cold evenings in front of the fire and indulge in new good reads. This week, our book Editor Naomi Round brings you the review of five new books to fall in love with this holiday season.

Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

The book retells the events of the 2005 hit book Twilight from the perspective of Edward Cullen. Released in August this year, the book truly impressed the fans who teleported back to their teens when the original saga was released.

The readers can see the different characters from the Twilight saga in a different light. We can now understand Edward’s actions better. The story manages to hold as much intrigue as it did so many years ago. If you have been a fan of the Twilight series, do not miss out on this book.

After you by Jojo Moyes

The book continues the story of Louisa Clark after Will’s demise. We see her trying to move on with her life. Motivated by Will’s words to change her life around, Clark moves to London and gets a job at the airport bar. After healing from a falling accident, she enrolls herself in a church. Soon a new love story begins as Louisa starts to fall in love again.

Moyes paints a picture of Louisa through this story. There are so many important life lessons about moving on despite holding on to your memories. Read the entire trilogy and fall in love with Moyes words.

Snow and Mistletoe by Alexa Riley

Written by Alexa Riley, the story follows Alex’s obsession with Noelle. Since he has hired her to read audiobooks, Alex has fallen in love with her voice. Listening to her voice is the only thing that makes his world bearable to live in. One Christmas Even a storm comes through sending Noelle to reach for her boss.

This may be the sweetest Christmassy book you will ever read. Filled with love confessions, romance, and festive vibes, prepare to fall in love under the Mistletoe.

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren

Second, on our list is a more modern tale of Christmas. Written by Christina Lauren, In a Holidaze is a quintessential romantic story. The novel depicts the story of Maelyn Jones and her desperate cry to the Universe to show her the definition of happiness. A trip to Utah follows hilarious disasters for Maelyn and she ends up stuck in a loop. The story follows her jounrey into finding her true love to break the repetitive loop and come back to reality.

The book is a light hearted romantic and questions you on your take of happiness, and finding true love.

Christmas Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

Last to make on our list Sophie Kinsella’s Christmas Shopaholic. The book is filled with holiday cheer and unexpected gifts for young readers. The story revolves around Becky Brandon who returned from the States to live with her best friend in Letherby. Life seems to be treating her well and she was asked to host the Christmas dinner this year. With a surprise visit from an old boyfriend and his new girlfriend, demands and expectations from her family members, the holiday turns into chaos for her.

I have been a fan of Sophie Kinsella and she didn’t let me down this time either. The book was fun, jolly, chaotic, and everything in between. Definitely a read for leisure!
