Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen ****
Pride and Prejudice is an 1813 novel of manners written by Jane Austen. Though it is mostly called a romantic novel, it is also a satirical one. The novel follows the character development of Elizabeth Bennet, the dynamic protagonist of the book, who learns about the repercussions of hasty judgments and eventually comes to appreciate the difference between superficial goodness and actual goodness. A classic piece filled with comedy, its humor lies in its honest depiction of manners, education, marriage, and money during the Regency era in Great Britain.
People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry ****
Emily Henry is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of People We Meet on Vacation and Beach Read. This book will make you laugh so hard, it also had you swooning and needing to fan with a lettuce leaf, at parts it even had me teary-eyed. Poppy and Alex also have a complex, incredible best friendship. Their chemistry is second to none and their witty batter had you laughing out loud.
