UK RETREATS IN THE COTSWOLDS

Hawkwood
Dates: All Summer
Hawkwood, nr Stroud
Who: Meet like-minded people and learn from top-notch tutors
Whether it is music-making and singing or resting quietly with beautiful nature all around you Hawkwood’s summer programme is enjoyable and enriching, stretching into early September and beyond. The ethical centre and charity is set in naturally stunning Cotswold landscape with a Grade II country house, views over the Severn Vale, a walled garden, natural spring, wild woodland, flowers, trees and farmland. Tutors include Classic FM star Craig Ogden with his classical guitar masterclass; famed soprano Dame Emma Kirkby introducing the songs and life of medieval saint Hildegard of Bingen; and a weekend singing J.S. Bach’s rousing B minor Mass. You can learn how to relax and move more easily with the Alexander Technique or restorative yoga or delve into your spiritual life with master philosophers Ravi Ravindra and Amit Biswas.
“The welcome from the team make Hawkwood feel like a home, not just a house. When people are on retreat, it’s so important to feel safe and secure. There is more happening here than simply adult education. Hawkwood is making a difference to people’s lives,” says regular visitor Carol Duncan.
