American television personality, businesswoman Tyra Banks who was one of the most powerful models in the world is coming back in this week after thirteen years by making her third appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue.
Wearing an itty-bitty yellow string bikini Tyra was the cover girl of “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit” on Wednesday, the media mogul revealed.
Banks flourished with a yellow Andi Bagus bikini and her mark smize in Great Exuma, Bahamas, Laretta Houston did the photo shoot.
Being the first African-American supermodel, she graced the cover of the magazine in 1996, alongside Valeria Mazza, and again in 1997. Unfortunately, Banks’ impressive career has also been plagued by some major missteps.
Banks retired from modelling in 2005, after walking in her final Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
“I was obsessed with it for myself, and now I am obsessed with firsts for everyone. I feel like my mission in life is to open doors for other people, and to get them in places that they probably couldn’t get to on their own,” said Blank.
“She’s kind of the Swimsuit Issue ethos come to life, everything we know this franchise can be,” said Editor MJ Day in statement.
“I want me coming out of retirement to be bigger than me, and for me to represent women to say, enough of this cookie-cutter thing,” saying this she also explained the name change in an interview.
