The South Africa-born Aussie pop singer Troye Sivan has shared its new song “Animal” from his upcoming album ‘Bloom’ which will be released on August 31st.
On Wednesday he released a teaser to ‘Animal’, featuring his boyfriend Jacob Bixenman and just hours later on that night, he finally dropped the official lyric video on Tweeter.
Featuring brooding electro, synth and drone, ‘Animal’ is an atmospheric ballad which Sivan described as an “epic, timeless love song.” It is believed to be about his boyfriend, Jacob Bixenman.
The album follows the previously released singles “My My My!” “The Good Side,” “Bloom,” and the Ariana Grande-featuring “Dance to This” which later received a visual of the two singers dueting in a dingy recreation hall.
Speaking about Ariana’s duet with Sivan, she said on Twitter: “I’m so honoured to be on this with my dear friend and pop king @troyesivan”.
‘Bloom’ is the follow-up to Sivan’s debut 2015 album ‘Blue Neighbourhood’ and he heads out on tour behind the new record in September.
The album is set to be a career-defining record for the 23-year-old artist, who has already won two ARIAs, a Billboard Music Awards trophy and tasted top-five success on the Billboard 200, twice.
“Animal is one of my fave songs I’ve ever written. I wanted to make an epic, timeless love song about how whipped I am.” said Sivan.
