Digital Portrait Drawing with London Drawing Group

Tuesday 20 July, 6:30 PM, Samsung KX

There was a time when being an artist meant setting up a rickety old easel at the top of a rickety old cliff and dolefully dabbing away at the oil paints while the wind howled and the rain poured down. Fancy something a little more 21st century? Try this digital portrait drawing class courtesy of the all-female art collective London Drawing Group. Using the ultra-slick Galaxy S7 +Tablet, you’ll learn how to make the most of the technology to deftly create your own little masterpiece.

Improv for Business with Hoopla

Thursday 29 July, 6:30 PM, Samsung KX

What’s scarier: standing up in a board meeting with no notes? Or, standing up on stage with no lines? This fun-but-genuinely-useful workshop uses the art of improv to help people gain the confidence and quick-thinking skills needed to smash it in the modern workplace. Run by Hoopla, who regularly works with Google and Facebook, the class is suitable for people who have absolutely never ever acted or attempted stand-up, and the teachers keep everything light, fun, and definitely unintimidating.

The Supercar Event

Saturday 24 July, 9:00 AM, Goodwood Racecourse, West Sussex

The Supercar Event, you can just be appreciating all these very fast vehicles for their design, beauty, speed and VERY LOUD ENGINES is a whole heap of fun you know. And sure, there are more than 80 of these gas guzzlers to stroke your eyeballs over but that’s not all.

Summer series of al fresco film screenings

Friday 9 July, Various venues, London

Do you like films and beautiful summer evenings? If yes, this is quite cool. You see, Pop Up Screens are combining cult films with a night under the stars from just £9. Its summer season runs from July 9 to September 19 and is taking in all corners of the city – from the center (Corams Fields, Guildhall) to out in the sticks (Hilly Fields, Ravenscourt Park) – so there should be screening within a stone’s throw of your yard. There’s plenty of choices, too. Want to spend a steamy couple of hours with prime-time-Swayze? ‘Dirty Dancing’, mate. Go for ‘Moonlight’. Plus there’s ‘Goonies’, ‘JoJo Rabbit’, ‘Grease’, ‘Jaws’, ‘Dreamgirls’ and loads more.
