The second annual Apple Music Awards is knocking at the door and has already announced the winner’s name. Puza Snigdha reports.
• The Apple Music Awards is set to take place on December 14, 2020.
• The event will feature special performances, fan events, interviews, and more throughout the whole week. The event will be streaming globally on Apple Music, the Apple TV app, and Apple Music TV. “We have an exciting week of music planned in December and are very much looking forward to celebrating together with these artists and their fans,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats.
• The Apple Music Awards honors the best and boldest musicians of 2020, also according to their immeasurable impact on global culture.
• The awards will be given across five distinct categories and are Global Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Top Song of the Year, and Top Album of the Year.
• The winner’s names are already out- Artist of the Year: Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion as Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year: Taylor Swift, Top Song of the Year: “The Box” by Roddy Ricch, Roddy Ricch won the Top Album of the Year for “Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial”.
• The song and album of the year awards have been chosen based on streaming data.
