The Vamps Star Supports Nature Project 30 Days Wild

The Vamps are a successful British rock/pop band and dedicated member James McVey is recognised for his musical skills and song production ability  as the designated writer and guitarist.
However, James has another interest: nature. He has stepped up to the plate to support The Wildlife Trusts’ annual nature challenge, 30 Days Wild.
The project takes place in June and was developed to encourage people to do something wild every day for the month of June.
James commented in a short film – which The Wildlife Trusts released on social media – and said in his statement: “I’m supporting The Wildlife Trusts’ national challenge of spending 30 Days Wild. Every day in June they are asking you guys to do something wild.
“Now – that could be going camping somewhere if you’ve never been camping, it could be doing an off-road trail, climbing a massive hill that you’ve always wanted to do but never done – but it could also be something as simple as recycling if you’ve never recycled before or buying a reusable water bottle.
“It doesn’t have to be absolutely crazy – but it’s just a great incentive to get you guys thinking a little bit differently and getting active so make sure you sign-up and get involved!”
As well as opening up your mind and adjusting your lifestyle in order to be more sustainably aware, signing up to this nature-centred campaign will enable you to receive some great goodies.
After registering you will get a free pack with a booklet of inspirational ideas for Random Acts of Wildness, a recipe for wild strawberry and thyme ice cream, wildflower seeded paper to sow, a wall chart to record your activities and wild stickers.
There are specialised packs for distinct groups; schools can access programmes with outdoor lesson plans and giant Random Acts of Wildness cards. Businesses can also get involved by finding ways to bring the ‘wild’ to the workplace.
The 2018 edition of 30 Days Wild will embody the theme of ‘Neighbourhood’, so the main aim is to inspire people to help the wildlife in their local area. The focus will, as always, be on finding ways to make the environment greener, cleaner and safer for all inhabitants.
There will also be, for the first time ever, a Big Wild Weekend taking place from the 16 – 17 June. This marks the middle of the month-long challenge and to highlight this, many special events will be held across the UK. This includes night safaris, wild festivals, seashore safaris, bioblitzes, mammal tracking, bushcraft, family nature nights, big wild picnics, wild river dips and much more…you won’t want to miss out!
If you are interested in taking part then you can sign up now – go on, you know you want to!
