The long-awaited wedding bell finally rang with Prince Harry and the gorgeous American actress Meghan Markle’s saying “I do” on May 19, 2018, at St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
In a statement, Kensington Palace said,”Her Majesty The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at the Chapel.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged vows in front of 600 guests including the Queen, more than 30 royals and famous faces such as Oprah Winfrey, tennis champion Serena Williams, actor George Clooney and his barrister wife Amal Clooney, Sir Elton John, David and Victoria Beckham and actor Idris Elba.
After taking the vow, Queen has announced Prince Harry as His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex, and Markle has become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.
The Duchess of Sussex’s first wedding gown by Clare Waight Keller, was just one “something new” for the big day. The diamond and platinum bandeau tiara worn by Meghan with her ceremony gown qualifies as her “something old” and “something borrowed” and as a “something blue”, Craddock also included forget-me-nots, Princess Diana’s favorite flower.
Sir Elton John performed at the lunchtime reception for the newlyweds, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Prince Harry asked Sir Elton to perform at the reception which was hosted by Her Majesty The Queen.
Guests of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated the couple tying the knot at an evening reception at which Idris Elba turned DJ and danced into the small hours with fireworks and a playlist of soul classics.
