The Roots and Michelle Obama Partner on 13th Annual ‘Roots Picnic’

The Roots and Michelle Obama’s “When We All Vote” registration initiative have recently announced that they will partner on the 13th annual ‘Roots Picnic’ on 27 June.

The annual music festival is usually held in The Roots hometown at Fairmount Park. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this year it will be held online as a virtual festival experience.

Hosted by Questlove, Black Thought, and Michelle Obama, this year’s event will be available via a YouTube Livestream via The Roots’ YouTube page.

This voter registration push and music show is not a replacement for the 13th Annual Roots Picnic, which was postponed indefinitely earlier in the year.

According to a comment from the official Instagram account. “Please stay tuned for more updates on the 2020 festival,” the organizers said.

The ‘Roots Picnic’ lineup includes The Roots, SZA, Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, Kirk Franklin, H.E.R., G Herbo, Earthgang, Polo G, DJ D-Nice, Snoh Aalegra, and Musiq Soulchild.
