‘The Originals’ Spinoff Hope-Centric ‘Legacies’ is Coming at CW

From the world of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘The Originals’, a new TV series ‘Legacies’ is coming with Hope-centric spin-off to take the Mikaelsons’ story further on Thursdays this fall to the CW.
In addition to Matt Davis reprising the role of Alaric Saltzman, and Danielle Rose Russell as Hope, the cast also includes Aria Shahghasemi, Quincy Fouse, Kaylee Bryant and Jenny Boyd.
Legacies follows the next generation of supernatural teens as The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted: the witch, vampire and werewolf offspring of characters from the earlier series on which it’s based, including Klaus Mikaelson’s daughter, Alaric Saltzman’s twins and others.
Talk of an Originals spinoff began in June 2017 when TVLine reported that a major time jump was in the works, one that would significantly age up Klaus and Hayley’s daughter Hope.
As previously reported, Matt Davis and Danielle Rose Russell are attached to star in the spin-off. Hopefully, Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin would also make appearances, though Morgan is attached to the new Gone Baby Gone TV pilot.
“There’s been many conversations about the character Hope,” CW president Mark Pedowitz said at last summer’s Television Critics Association tour. “Nothing has come out of it yet. Julie [Plec] really wants to get the final season of The Originals done.”
