The cast of Mean Girls virtually reunited

The cast of the 2004 hit movie reunited on Instagram for a good cause.

Writer and actress, Tina Fey, teased the footage on Friday stating that the video would be released if 5,000 people registered to vote with HeadCount for the US election.

On Saturday (October 3rd – the perfect date for a Mean Girls event) Katie Couric hosted the video on her Instagram after they “easily” met their goal.

The reunion featured all the best members of the cast; Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, Daniel Franzese, Jonathan Bennett, Lizzy, Caplan, Rajiv Surendra, and Tim Meadows.

The cast commentated over clips from the movie and answered Couric’s question about their time filming the hit.

Tina, who wrote the script and played Ms. Norbury, revealed that she invented the slang word “fetch” used by Gretchen in the movie, as she knew that already existing slang would be out of fashion by the time the movie was released.

Whilst reflecting on their characters, Lizzy who played Janis, said: “I kind of was Janis in high school and still to this day remain Janis-y. I knew when I read the script that I loved it.”

Watch the full reunion and hear the actors re-live the iconic movie almost 15 years later.
