Novak Djokovic has been deported from Australia ahead of the Australian Open.

His visa cancellation bid was dismissed by the federal court, and just an hour later of the court’s dismissal, Novak has seen touring to Dubai.

Last week, the Australian immigration minister, Alex Hawke, canceled his visa and stopped his entrance into Australia.

Immediately after the cancellation, Novak appealed to the court to recheck the issue and restore his visa.

Chief Justice James Allsop announced the court unanimously dismissed Djokovic’s application, with costs to be paid by the tennis star.

In a statement, Djokovic said with disappointment, “I respect the court’s ruling and I will cooperate with the relevant authorities concerning my departure from the country.”

“I am uncomfortable that the focus of the past weeks has been on me and I hope that we can all now focus on the game and tournament I love. I would like to wish the players, tournament officials, staff, volunteers, and fans all the best for the tournament,” he added.

Serbia’s prime minister on Sunday criticized the decision to cancel the visa as “scandalous”.
