It is not a new topic that this summer in the UK there have been scorching temperatures, reaching 35.1 °C last month, just 1.2 °C off the country’s all-time record temperature for July.
According to scientists, there are predictions that the heatwave “trend” is set to continue globally for approximately another four years, even reaching higher maximums. That, of course, is a result the global warming anomalia. Consequently, there have been reportedly an astonishing number of people that have turned to the NHS for emergency care due to the heatwave.
Even though there is no certainty of this statement as Gabi Hegerl, professor of climate system science at the University of Edinburgh, commented: “These new predictions are not geared up at the moment to predict regional trends such as the hot summer this year.” That explicitly proves that global warming is no longer a slow rather than a rapid process.
Greenhouse emissions cause the Earth to become warmer and consequently the ice melts in the Arctic. That leads to little white surface to reflect the sunlight, instead the ocean water reflects it. Furthermore, that has a big impact as the more ice is melting, the more sunlight is being absorbed but what is more concerning is that this process repeats itself, creating a devastating cycle.
