The Bangali New Year Festival or Pohela Boisakh is the largest Bangali community event celebrated annually. On 14th April 2018, Sydney is celebrating it’s second yearly Boisakh festivities through a grand ‘Boisakhi Mela’.
ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park, a world-class venue is hosting “Boishakhi Mela” to celebrate Bangali culture, music, foods and language.
Since 1993 this festival is organized by Bangabandhu Council Australia, a leading not-for-profit community organization in Sydney. It is one of the largest multicultural events hosted by the Sydney Olympic Park Authority since 2006, attracting the crowd over 20,000.
This Mela brings up a great opportunity to the people from different races and backgrounds to explore a diversity of food, clothing, music and rituals. To entertain the crowd, different musical artists including mainstream Australians musicians perform to celebrate multicultural intermingle.
It is a great opportunity for the Bangladeshi People lives in Australia to re-live their culture in festivity colour and fall in love with it again. Radio Gaan Baksho will broadcast the live event worldwide throughout the day.
