Swedish Midsummer

Sweden Day is an annual ‘Midsummer’ event held in New York & sponsored by the United Swedish Societies. At this unique celebration, adults and children come together to picnic in the grass, decorate the midsummer pole, make flower wreaths, play traditional games and dance to authentic fiddle music.
The program will feature music by Paul Dahlin and fiddlers from the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis. There will also be special guests, including Kalle Morgeus and Dalarnas Fiddlers Association in Sweden. Guests can expect to see folk dances with Barnklubben-Elsa Rix as well as folk dancing led by Scandinavian folklorist and singer Ross Sutter.
