Sunday Social: 5 Ways to Collaborate

September is approaching and with it the fresh new semester. Freshers find it difficult to socially engage with others. Collaborating together with like-minded people is important to grow, develop higher-level thinking skills, boost confidence, and increase one’s self-esteem.

For our Sunday Social, we bring you 5 ways to collaborate.

1.Take part in Organizing festivals

This is perhaps the best way to widen your circle and meet new people. Come out of your comfort zone and take part in the various festivals that you university is running. Give a stall or apply to volunteer. Not only will you have a great time and make new friends, but you will also know a lot about your new university, your peers and the university culture, which now you are a part of.

2. Join the University clubs

It is very likely that you will end up with a lot of brochures and newsletters from your orientation. These belong to the various established clubs running in your university. Sign up in clubs that promote skills you are passionate about. You will be able to enhance your skills and meet like-minded people.

3. Volunteer with local NGOs and organizations

Universities have affiliations with different organizations and NGOs who often require student volunteers. Register and volunteer in various programs. Visit the old homes, help to clean the beaches, or raise charity to help the needy and homeless. The sense of living in a community comes with giving back to it.

4. Collaborate with classmates

One of the purposes to go to a learning institution is to have peers and classmates with whom you can learn together. Collaborating with classmates from different nationalities will help you to know the world better and understand different cultural norms. Add them to your Social media and see what they are good at. Collaborate on different artistic projects and share a bigger audience. It is a win-win situation for all!

5. Take part in global debate platforms and exchange programs

Universities often give you the opportunity to do a semester in a different country, a different university. Take this opportunity to live abroad. Explore new cultures and ways of living. Another great way to collaborate is to take part in various global conferences. Students are involved in research, discussions, and debates in these conferences. This helps to develop ideas and work out solutions for world problems.
