Stand Up To Racism Demonstration – Saturday 17 November 2018

Stand Up To Racism is the national unity demonstration against racism and fascism. Thousands of supporters will march this weekend to promote equality, stand against racism and other forms of hate crimes.
Where?
London. Supporters will congregate outside the BBC, Great Portland Street, W1A 1AA.
When?
Saturday 17th November 2018 at 12pm. This will be followed by a 2pm rally at Whitehall.
How?
Grab a £5 ticket from Birmingham Coach Station. This will cover travel to and from the event – with a return at 5pm.
Why?
The march aims to raise awareness and rally against the rise in the far right, and the racial abuse, Islamophobia and Anti-Semitism that has been affecting individuals in the UK. These crimes are thought to be on the rise, and have affected those living in the UK since the 1930s.
This march will have the support of senior government figures like Shadow Home Secretary Dianne Abbott and Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell, to name a few.
Stand Up To Racism says: “A racist offensive is sweeping Europe, with governments and the right-wing media using migrants, refugees and Muslims as scapegoats for an economic crisis and wars they did not create.” The march and demonstrations hope to eradicate such abuse, and see an end to these discriminatory comments and viewpoints.
