Saturday Special: In Conversation With ‘Revolutus’

Bangladeshi Musical band group ‘Revolutus’ may be a power metal band but they also focus on melody and neo-classical field of music together with speed. The band started their musical career back in 2010 and published their debut album named ‘Gonotantrik Shikol’ in 2017. Last month, ‘Revolutus’ released their first music video of the song ‘Notun Shurjo’ from the album ‘Gonotantrik Shikol’. WhatsOn Reporter Dipto Paul talked exclusively with few band members from ‘Revolutus’ and tried to search out their feelings and plans.

D.P: At the very beginning, I would like to congratulate all the band members for your recent music video. The video looks great! How are you feeling right now?

Tapesh Chakroborty (Vocal): Thanks man, it is a pleasure for us. We have gathered plenty of experience from our first music video. We tried to introduce some new elements in the video and thankfully it went well. We are very happy.

D.P: So tell me by what was in your mind when Revolutus went for releasing the music video?

Tapesh: To be frank, if musicians release music with the video, it attracts more viewers than releasing only the audio. So basically we started from that sort of thinking. Besides, if we glance at our Bangladeshi music industry, we will be able to see all the famous musicians and bands are releasing their music video. As a band, we also had the desire to release music video from the very beginning and that is the explanation basically why we released it.

D.P: How was the effect of Coronavirus pandemic in the release of the music video?

Hasib Hossain Mehdi (Guitars): Basically, we started the music video work before the coronavirus. We completed most of the video shoots before lockdown. But it has been seven months; we stopped our practice, no public gathering, no concerts. Then we thought that fans had started to forget us as we were not producing anything or entertaining them. So we decided releasing it thinking that this pandemic is the best time to entertain our fans.

Rafeed Redwan Roktim (Bass/Backup Vocals): We planned to release the music video on 26th March this year which is our Independence Day. But at that point, the Effect of the corona was extremely bad everywhere around the globe and over social media also. So we discovered that this can be not the right time to release the music video and we stopped the procedure. We also lose a number of our fans during the pandemic as we weren’t productive. After releasing the song, we are gaining our rhythm again while everything is getting normal also. Hopefully, by the end of this year, we are going to bring some new surprise gift for our fans.

D.P.: How satisfied are you after releasing your first music video?

Hasib: Look, our music video isn’t a gathering of footages or performances rather it tells a story and it’s a transparent concept. We tried to convey a message to the audience and we hope they get the correct message. In a word, my team and I are very satisfied with the release of our first music video.

D.P.: I’d like to know individually. What’s your best achievement being with Revolutus?

Tapesh: Launching our first album is the best achievement of my life. That was also a really emotional moment for me. We faced a big amount of ups and downs during those times but we overcame them with our hard works. It’ll remain ever fresh in my mind.

Roktim: Along with our album launch, releasing our first music video is the best achievement for me to this point. Because I think that we’ve done quite a good job in our first music video and I am pleased with that.

Hasib: Every music artist has 2 dreams in their life. One is to make an album and another one is producing a music video. Being with Revolutus, I achieved that milestone and there’ll be nothing joyful than this. Besides this, we are planning to release our second music video by the tip of this year.
