Alexi Laiho, the front man and the acclaimed guitarist of the metal band Children of Bodom has breathed his last at the age of 41 in his residence in Helsinki, Finland last week. Puza Snigdha reports.
He was struggling with long-term health issues.
Laiho formed the death metal band Children of Bodom in 1993 with childhood friend drummer Jaska Raatikainen. They released 10 studio albums featuring their signature mix of death, thrash and melodic metal in 20 years. The band splited in 2019.
After that, Laiho along with rhythm guitarist Daniel Freyberg founded Bodom After Midnight. The group recorded three songs and one video but not released yet.
“We are crushed by the sudden passing of our dear friend and band member. Words cannot describe this shock and the profound sadness that we feel”, said Freyberg.
