Five Rhino poacher secretly entered to the Kruger National Park of South Africa where one poacher faced horrible death by an elephant and then eaten by a pride of hungry lions while they were in the park to hunt rhinos on the night of April 2.
Following the arrest of four other alleged accomplices, the search team has only found human skull and a pair of pants on Friday but unable find the body.
The accomplices called the victim’s family, said he had been killed by an elephant and the family members informed the contacted park rangers.
“Indications found at the scene suggested that a pride of lions had devoured the remains leaving only a human skull and a pair of pants,” said Isaac Phaahla.
“His accomplices claimed to have carried his body to the road so that passersby could find it in the morning,” saying this Hlathi added “They then vanished from the park.”
“Entering Kruger National Park illegally and on foot is not wise, it holds many dangers and this incident is evidence of that,” saying this Glenn Phillips, Kruger National Park Managing Executive added in a statement, “It is very sad to see the daughters of the [deceased] mourning the loss of their father, and worse still, only being able to recover very little of his remains.”
The suspects showed up in Komatipoort Magistrate Court on Friday to deal with indictments of having guns and ammo without a permit, scheme to poach and trespassing. A judge remanded them to authority and they will be back in court this week, pending a formal safeguard application.
