Quichotte

Author: Salman Rushdie
Quichotte is the story of an ageing travelling salesman who falls in love with a TV star and sets off to drive across America on a quest to prove himself worthy of her hand. This book is a homage to Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. Cervantes satirized the culture of his time and here Rushdie takes the reader on a wild ride through a country on the verge of moral and spiritual collapse. This tragicomic novel is intertwined with the eternal human quest for love. The novel received favourable reviews and has been longlisted for the 2019 Booker Prize.
