Paul McCartney will Headline Glastonbury 2020, Organisers Announce

Co-organiser Emily Eavis has announced that the former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney will headline England’s iconic Glastonbury 2020.
Sharing an image on his Twitter page on Monday, featuring Philip Glass, Emma Stone and Chuck Berry, McCartney dropped clear hints that he would be performing at the festival.
“We are incredibly excited to announce that Paul McCartney will headline the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday night of Glastonbury 2020,” the official Glastonbury Twitter account confirmed.
Emily Eavis tweeted: “IT’S REAL!! So excited. Having Paul McCartney coming back to headline the Pyramid next year is an absolute dream come true. There really was no one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary.”
Macca shared an image of American composer Philip Glass, actress Emma Stone and rock legend Chuck Berry. The interesting part is adding their surnames together and we get Glastonbury.
McCartney will hit the Pyramid Stage on Saturday 27 June, one week after his 78th birthday which will be the first time McCartney has performed on the Pyramid Stage since the summer of 2004.
McCartney is the second confirmed performer of next year’s festival, after Diana Ross was announced as the next star to take up the Sunday teatime ‘legend’ slot on the Pyramid Stage.
The festival will take place from 24 – 28 June, 2020. All tickets have already sold out within a few minutes. Emily Eavis said on Twitter that 2.4 million people had registered online for the chance to buy tickets costing £265 each.
However, there will be a second chance to get tickets in April 2020.
