The 36-year-old rapper Nicki Minaj has tied the knot with Kenneth Petty. She announced her marriage on Instagram late Monday night following nearly a year of dating.
She shared her marital bliss with a video of their matching ‘Mr and Mrs’ coffee mugs and ‘Bride and Groom’ baseball caps. Revealing the date of the wedding the rapper captioned the footage “Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10•21•19.”
Since announcing their relationship on Instagram, they have featured constantly on each other’s feeds in many photos. Petty revealed a tattoo of Minaj’s birth name, Onika.
Minaj revealed in an August episode of her queen Radio show that she had petitioned for a marriage permit and would be hitched in “around 80 days.”
“I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place,” saying this she added, “Now that I’m there, I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
Congratulations are pouring on them by several celebrity friends, including singer Christina Aguilera and actress La La Anthony.
Minaj confirmed that she will definitely have a larger wedding after she’s done with her new album.
“I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now,” she said at the time. “We’ll do the big wedding later.”
