Review: Game Of Thrones S8 E3 “The Long Night”

Through all the twists and turns over the last eight seasons, the third episode of final season, “The Long Night,” brought one of Game of Thrones’ main storylines to its conclusion. The battle with the dead is over, the Night King is defeated, and the forces of the living are victorious.
The episode started with a so many tensed moments, a setting of the upcoming fight, all the important characters taking positions for the fight. The dramatic entry of the Night king, the killing of Dothrakis and the presence of Red Woman was enough to set the mood.
Most of the talking points and the confused reactions after watching the episode was regarding the NIGHT KING’S DEATH. Now about the foreshadowing. The showrunners said they knew arya would be the one to kill the night king for about 3 years..!!!
She may have never added the Night King’s name to her kill list, but in the end, “What do we say to the God of Death?” Melisandre asks as they stare at the fallen Beric Dondarrion, who has died so many times before, all for this moment it turns out. All part of this plan.
“Not today,” Arya says.
From the very opening of the episode, the tension is already building. Simply the variation from the usual, and the way the blue tiles of the Night King surround Winterfell, is enough to start the worry, but that’s emphasised by the preparations for the battle. Lyanna Mormont rallies her men with lots of fierce yelling. The fate of the world is in their hands.
“The Long Night” captured the frenetic disorientation of a warzone better than anything else on television, while also shifting up the tone and momentum to keep viewers on their toes. The White Walkers might not have got much action, but the relentless onslaught of the wights was truly terrifying, illustrating the scale of their threat in a way “Hardhome” only hinted at.
Jorah Mormont died fighting for Danny which Jon Snow might have some show for himself. Lady Mormont, the badass-she-bear outstandingly defeated the Jaint. Tiriyan and Sansa shared a moment and Theon gave his best fight to save Bran from Night King which didn’t save the last though.
The unexpected most crucial moment happened when Arya Strak killed Night King with her Dragon glasses that Bran provide her earlier which was spectacular to watch.
That dagger was initially given to an assassin by Littlefinger to kill Bran which started the fight between the starks and lannister which eventually led to the war of the five Kings and all the horrors that have come to The Seven Kingdoms..
So Arya killing the Night King to save bran and end the long night once n for all is not just perfect but POETIC. Overall, it was one of the best episode for GOT fans provided by the show-runners.
