New Delhi hosts International Circus Fest; #Gallery

Rambo Circus set up its tent in New Delhi after shows in several cities across the country, such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Surat. The four-day International Circus Festival inaugurated at the Siri Fort Auditorium on Thursday.

Circus artists from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan joined hands with artists from India for the 120-minute shows. Sujit Dilip, proprietor of Rambo Circus, said in a press release that the idea was to encourage creative collaboration and exchange of technical know-how.

The late PT Dilip formed the circus troop in 1991. He brought together circuses like Arena, Great Oriental. And Victoria in a bid to revive the dying art form of circus.

Sujit, son of PT Dilip, implemented several methods to make Rambo Circus innovative and stand out in comparison with other contemporary circuses.

Preservation and promotion of circus is the need of the hour, said former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. Who was present at the inauguration ceremony on Thursday. 
The show featured most classic acts associated with the circus, like juggling, mono-wheel cycling, acrobatics, hula-hoop, and, of course, clowns. There were also a few surprises, like a bubble show by Viktoria from Russia that left the audience trying to catch various kinds of bubbles. — A few of which contained smoke.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the troop of Rambo Circus conducted special online circus shows for school students. Via virtual platforms to keep their spirits high and motivated to look forward to a better future,
