Netflix Buys Chinese Fantasy Film ‘The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity’

The giant streaming platform Netflix has acquired rights to “The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity,” and will be debuted in February, the streaming authority confirmed. Puza Snigdha reports.

Netflix has announced in December that the film will be premiered exclusively in more than 190 countries and regions on Netflix from 5th February 2021.

The film has been set for a Christmas Day theatrical release in China. Audiences can watch the movie in more than 20 language versions.

The film, directed by Guo Jingming and stars Mark Chao, Allen Deng, Jessie Li, and Wang Ziwen. The film is produced by Hehe Pictures, ZUI, Thinkingdom Pictures, state-backed Shanghai Film Group and Black Ant Film.

“I’m excited that The Yin-Yang Master: Dream Of Eternity will soon be introduced to global audiences on Netflix,” said Guo.

“I hope Netflix members will enjoy the world of The Yin-Yang Master and find their own fun in this fantasy journey.”

The film is based on Onmyoji, a Japanese fantasy masterpiece, a 2001 novel by Baku Yumemakura that tells the story of the four best Yin-Yang Masters in the country called to the capital to slay the serpent demon. The world’s most powerful demon who awakens every 100 years. In the meantime, a princess and the head of the royal guard conspire to end the serpent’s eternal life.

Before this Netflix also streamed Chinese films like “US and Them”, “The Wandering Earth”, “Animal World.”
