Musicians will Join Live Stream To Get PPE To Scottish Key Workers

Many Scottish bands have joined together and signed up for a live stream, For The Love of Scotland, which taking place tonight to get PPE to Scottish key workers. Dipto Paul reports.

For The Love of Scotland will be taking place tonight, 22nd April, from 6-9pm BST, and has been organised in aid of ‘Masks For Scotland’, a newly formed charity which aims to raise funds to provide essential PPE to medical workers across Scotland.

Artists that are set to perform include Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro’s frontman Simon Neil, Annie Lennox, Travisā€˜ Fran Healy and Twin Atlantic singer Sam McTrusty.

Along with these performances there will also be a live conversation session with Karen Gillan, Sir Chris Hoy, James McAvoy, Chvrches vocalist Lauren Mayberry, Peter Capaldi, Mogwaiā€˜s Stuart Braithwaite, Belle & Sebastianā€˜s Stuart Murdoch and more.

Edith Bowman, co-host of the event, has said:

ā€œFor the Love of Scotland will be three hours of people coming together through music, prose, comedy, conversation and thanks, featuring both plenty of well-known faces and members of the public. I canā€™t begin to explain how grateful I am to all the people who are helping us out and giving up their time. Now we just have to do it.ā€
