Ireland’s Breandán Fitzpatrick releases striking debut solo single – ‘Sweet Return’ Out Now

Sinnead O’Connor, The Script, The Corrs. You can’t say Ireland doesn’t know homegrown musical talent. Every so often you’ll get a nice surprise and this is genuinely something. Breandán Fitzpatrick is something of a breath of fresh air as his song, Sweet Return is about being someone in the world where you aren’t central. No stranger to music after being in it for a decade but in the background Breandán’s now making his moment at the forefront. Even I have never heard of him I definitely rate this single as top notch and recommend it

Mew side-project TACHYS further develop their eerie soundscapes with new single – ‘Boy’!  Out Now

The lines between the vanity and guilt are drawn in Tachys Latest single boy clearly demonstrates clearly demonstrates. The song is about a young boy who believes in his own beauty and begins to believe he’s too good for this world. His feelings become conflicted with sense of guilt. On first glance you just hear a great song but it’s only when you listen to the lyrics you realise that there’s a darker undertone. Boy marks as a great return for Tachys as he knows how to make a great song. One thing that you can appreciate from him that he doesn’t lose track even when telling stories through his music

Burr Island release 60s tinged debut single ‘Distant Stars’!  Out Now

West Country singer songwriters, Tom England and Oscar Porter, who both make Burr Island have created something of a retro 60’s inspired tune with Distant Stars. The song is about the power of selflessness and using it to unlock the beauty and power of everything that surrounds you. Best friends since childhood the song can just as easily be about the power of their own selflessness both as friends and individuals. To listen to the duo behind Burr Island you could just as easily have believed that they’ve been around a while have only been on the scene since last year. You can hear the feel of lifelong friendship in their music

Devin James Fry releases his post-pandemic masterpiece ‘Retrellion’ – a new world comprised of Retreat and Rebellion Out Now

Retrellion, the latest album from American singer songwriter musician Devin James Fry, and it is something epic. Inspired by the Covid pandemic lockdown period the songs are a reflection of the emotion and mentally that was faced when we were at our most challenging moment. Each track on the album is electrifying and is an experimental fusion of electronic, rock and hip-hop with sharp captivating vocals in the mix.

As a singer Devin reminds us of the complexities of a difficult time yet in such a way it’s so good it’s hauntingly intriguing. He has taken a negative and made something enticing out of it.

Check out Purple Glue, Disaster/What I’m Becoming, Somebody’s Grapefruit and Black Pearl. All are brilliant
