Music Monday: Robinson’s ‘Moonlit Skies’ gets beamed to Space station!

British Student’s music gets beamed up to Space ahead of ground-breaking Air, Earth, Fire & Water collection of modern folk song. Adam Humphries reports.

Moonlit Skies is the new single from Sally Robinson, an upcoming musician who, at the moment, is currently a student at Bath University doing a Commercial Music degree. And it seems like she’s in the right place and the right time considering her new song.

Moonlit Skies opens on quite a good eartheral, folk note. Then we get to the vocals.

The song itself is both soothing and completely melodic. It is a soft, flowing track which has haunting backing vocals which add an extra calming mood to the music, and for a track that’s four minutes, sixteen seconds long it actually sounds really good. As far as new music goes it sounds very uplifting and promising and sets off on a good track.

For a tune that somehow references the elements of nature it certainly doesn’t disappoint and does deliver in term of folk music. It’s also the same for the counterpart song, Leaves in the Light. This one’s a bit shorter being only three minutes and nineteen seconds long and is a bit more fast-paced than Moonlit but nonetheless is equally as melodic and is filled is soft, soothing vocals.

Listen to ‘Moonlight skies’ below:

It’s actually quite good and has the small science/astrology theme going through it.
