Miley Cyrus Has Returned With ‘Plastic Hearts’

From swinging on a wrecking ball to being chased on stage by a giant orange puppet bird, Miley Cyrus has consistently tested the limits and created the music she adored. Just when you think she couldn’t do anymore; she returns with her 7th album: Plastic Hearts.

Since the beginning of her fame, Miley Cyrus has been a victim of cynical scrutiny as she transformed from adolescent Miley in the Disney Channel hit series Hannah Montana to an independent free-spirited Miley, who isn’t afraid to cause controversy.

The artist herself has returned with a modern taste of rock n’ roll with a hint of nostalgic beats, with her new album: Plastic Hearts. The album is full of inspired 80s punk-rock driven hits, with lyrics echoing Cyrus’s past.

The introductory tune “WTF DO I Know” features strong guitar chords that set off a dramatic beat for listeners. Songs on the album such as “Gimme What I Want” has similar vibes to her 2009 album can’t Be Tamed. Her familiar chart hit “Midnight Sky” that, quite simply sounds like you’re floating on a cloud of candy floss, is the 7th track on the album.

The phenomenal album features some familiar rock legends from the “New Wave” era such as Joan Jett and Billy Idol, as well as a Midnight Sky remix called “Edge of Midnight” that features the reigning queen of Rock ‘n’ roll, Stevie Nicks.

Although featuring tunes you can’t help but dance to, you’ll also find melancholic tracks that show Cyrus in a more vulnerable way.  Throughout the album, Cyrus reflects on addiction, love, guilt, sadness, and breaking hearts. Feelings and situations a lot of us can relate to.
