TEEN CREEPS unveil monochrome video for grunge ballad ‘Crash / Land’

New release by Belgian indie-rock trio, Teen Creeps, Crash/Land, taken from their album ‘Forever’ which is due out early next year. Compared to their last release it is a bit softer, sound-wise, but still non the less speaks its volumes. Musically, the opening of the track takes influence from 90’s punk rock which clearly pours straight through in an in-your-face way. Crash/Land is about reaching some kind of cross-road in your life, a sort of ‘you’re getting on a bit but just want that last blow-out you got from being young. In some ways a bit like a midlife crisis. But for something that is 6 minutes long it is still a great song either way that is filled to the brim with clever lyrics that seep seemingly age-old emotions, and to the top if off four minutes of a perfectly fitted guitar riff. All in all, another great song from Teen Creeps. And I’ve heard of any 90’s type rock that could match the legend that Kurt Cobain until now.

The video for this song is literally just under 5 minutes long and is an interesting mixture of abstract and animation. It’s also all in monochrome which adds to the atmosphere, giving it that somber mood. It’s also one of those types where what makes it odd is also what makes it interesting as it has elements of mental-trips too.

As with the last release there is no actual video for the song as such, it is more a less one of those were you have a single static image and you can just sit back and enjoy the music. Though if you like your art both abstract and colour then by all means check out the video.

BASSICALLY says ‘You Got It’ with new ambient trip-hoppy jam

You Got It is the next new single from London-based Music Producer/Songwriter and Composer Olsher, also know as Bassically. And as always, he never fails to impress with his song choices. Taken from his album, Audio Dairies, You Got It is a beautifully crafted piece that fuses together the genres of Trip-hop, Jazz, beats all mixed together with ambient sounds. He has even thrown in some vocal audio inserts. Now either those music styles have always been able to go together or Olsher is a musical genius who has a sheer awesome ability to be able to create some truly astonishing sounds that can make you stop and listen. And of course, listen again and again.

Like with his last single, Islan Molam, Olsher, otherwise know by his stage-name, Bassically, is a guy who has the profound ability to make one great song after another. In some ways he’s almost like the Banksy of the music world as in you know him for his music than him himself, for some. Either way You Got It is yet further proof of Olsher’s musical genius. All I say is watch this space.

As with the last release there is no actual video for the song as such, it is more a less one of those where you have a single static image and you can just sit back and enjoy the music.

OMONOKO release exotic and dreamy new single ‘Weight In Gold

Weight in Gold is the new track from Ireland’s latest musical export, OMONOKO, and at only 3 minutes and 16 seconds it is actually really good. Definitely one for your playlist this Christmas (an alternative if you’re already sick of Xmas songs).

One of the ways I can describe this track is like a musical landscape that changes. A nice mixture of guitar, ambient sounds, electronic beats, a bassline that just gets more and more addictive the longer you listen to it, and the vocals from the band members themselves.

The line ‘just me and my mind, me and my mind’ is the song’s hook that gets under your skin from the moment you hear it and just goes round and round. Completely infectious and just gets deeper and deeper into your ears.

Band-wise OMONOKO are in the same musical vein as other great such as Alt-J and Milky Chance not to mention airplay and love from 6Music. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for these guys, I’m expecting even more great things from them.
