Music Monday: 5 Must-Hear New Tracks to Brighten Your Week

Music Monday is here to lift your spirits with fresh sounds! From Happy Mondays’ Gaz Whelan’s soulful new single to Michele Ducci’s dreamy short film soundtrack, and the psychedelic vibes of Ledher Blue, this week’s picks are pure magic. Plus, slow-burning beauty from LLOREN and OK Go’s wild new video — your playlist just got a major upgrade.

HAPPY MONDAYS co-founder Gaz Whelan releases new YOGI-G AND THE FAMILY TREE single ‘Shine On (Brother)’

Listen

Never let it be said that Mancunian Maestro Gaz, formerly of the Happy Mondays, doesn’t know how to make a decent record. I thoroughly enjoy Shine On because of its uplifting rhythms, and even though Gaz’s voice is a bit gravely he has that ability to make a near smooth vocal sweep

Watch

I actually enjoy videos like this as there’s a creative artistic angle which combines live action footage that always fits the vibe of the video

Michele Ducci releases ‘Why Do I Wake Up Every Morning?’ and first part of animated short film ‘Film for Songs: The Great Book of Nature’

Watch

Here’s a few things I like about this video, it’s creative, involves some nice storytelling, has that video diary look, the angle it’s done in goes refers back to the childhood imagination. Lastly, the way in which the video’s been put together doesn’t look as it took itself too seriously

Out today! ‘Craic’ from Ledher Blue is like The Strokes shone through a kaleidoscope of trippy synth goodness!

Listen

Never heard these guys before but after listening to Craic these guys are officially growing on me. Normally having a lead vocalist singing in higher tone voice you’d think it wouldn’t work yet it does. A great song that fits the Britpop vibe

LLOREN releases gorgeous slow burning Lana Del Rey inspired new single ‘La La Love’

Listen

They say to be inspired by your inspirations and what you admire, and in this case Lloren’s done that. La La Love is definitely in the musical vein as Lana Del Rey and is incredible. Lloren shows her ability to be musical powerhouse

Watch OK Go’s wonder-filled robotic video for ‘Love’ / New album out today!

Listen – ‘And The Adjacent Possible’ albumhttps://open.spotify.com/album/7LdVM3OTajLAz3kMyHLxBH?si=2vsL9mp-S2CzyAl0vIO0OA

Listen

Impulse Purchase, A Stone Only Rolls Downhill, Better Than This and This is How it Ends to name but a few from OK GO’s album. Adjacent Possible is a beautiful eclectic mix of rock and indie, definitely one for the fans.

Watch – ‘Love’

A great song, uplifting, filled with really good guitar riffs, a steady bass and rhythmic drums. Overall just a beautiful indie/rock track to listen to and the video is a creative one. When it starts you think you know what’s probably going to happen next then it changes. I love it
