Holly Henderson returns with a uniquely fresh, retro-infused new single – ‘Wendy’

Whomever this Wendy is she’s got a good friend in Holly Henderson as she reaches out to her in this heartwarming melody. Like many other artists, Holly wears her heart on her sleeve as she pours her emotions into this track. Holly’s singing is soft and entirely encapsulating as it’s like she’s singing to you and only you in your ear. Wendy is about the promise of not being abandoned when you’re not there.

When stripped back to just a voice and a guitar everything is completely raw and exposed as nothing is held back. It’s just your voice, guitar, and you. The twist in this is that it’s about the artist’s dog, but still a good song either way.

Top indie artists come together to raise money for St Mungo’s homeless charity – Write to Be

Mieko Shimizu, William D Drake, Barbara Morgenstern, and Ola Szmidt, that’s just four of the artist’s that have got together to form a collaboration for the St Mungo’s charity for the homeless.

Without, Where Do You Go, John’s House are just three of the songs in the album, and even though the songs have a smooth R&B vibe to them there is a message hidden within each track. Listen carefully to the words performed by each artist on this EP and you’ll hopefully hear and understand the words and emotions about losing what many of us take for granted.

For a charity to come together to create an album to both raise money and highlight the much-ignored social issues of housing is remarkable.

Notorious B.I.G. producer and co-writers new project Short Wave Craft drops a modern trip-hop anthem! – I Need You Tonight

A product from a joint collaboration between legendary producer Dominic Owen (Biggie Smalls, Rakim, Seal, Anthony Hamilton, Lil Kim) and underground musician, Tom Carr as part of Owen’s side project, Short Wave Craft. I Need You Tonight is about life in a world after a long conflict. As a producer Dominic Owen really has excelled himself here as he’s taken himself in to something of a different direction as compared to what he’s been known for.

Straight from the go tonight has right in the ear because even though it begins on an ambient note it leaves you curious for whatever’s next. Vocally the singing is in the same veins as Portishead in that it’s almost ghost-like and never comes out all at once. You still get everything though, nice and steady

Young Fathers – Toy

Released a few years ago back in 2018 by Scottish rappers, Alloysious Massaquoi,

Kayus Bankole and ‘G’ Hastings who form Young Fathers. Toy is something of an impressive hip-hop rap song in that it’s got all the energy. And vibes of hip-hop itself but also of encouraging underbeats. What it is that gives the song that extra edge is it has that Punk like attitude in that. It knows how to be in-your-face but without going all the way.

However, what it does share with 70’s punk, is that it has that anti-establishment voice to it. In some ways, it makes Young Fathers the punks of hip-hop
