Marriott International’s ‘Run to Give 2019’ Charity Run

[Dhaka, September 25, 2019] Le Méridien Dhaka, Renaissance Dhaka, and Four Points by Sheraton Dhaka have jointly organized ‘Run to Give 2019’ charity run on September 25, 2019. The proceedings of this event will be donated to ‘ASHIC Foundation’, a non-profit organization which has been dedicating children cancer support since 1994 in Bangladesh.
‘Run to Give’ is a key event under Marriott International’s ‘Take Care’ movement. Ever since the event was inaugurated in 2014, ‘Run to Give’ has become an integral part of the company’s tradition in cultivating a people-first environment that promotes associate well-being and drives its people to care for the communities where they do business. Under the ‘Run to Give’banner, ASHIC Foundation has been working toward improving the quality of life for children living with cancer in Bangladesh.
Regarding the charity event, Constantinos S. Gavriel, General Manager, Le Méridien Dhaka said, “This initiative is aimed at bringing all our associates and senior leadership team across Le Méridien Dhaka portfolio under one roof for a noble cause, which is to touch more lives and give back to the community. Since the time we started Run to Give, we have been witnessing a great response from the general public. Receiving such a good response from everyone has helped us to make this year’s Run to Give charity a big success.”
The run started at 7:05 am and has covered a radius of 10km of Purbachal (300ft). Approximately, 200 participants took part in the run. The event was followed by refreshments, crest for sponsor partners, certificate and medal distribution to the first 6 runners-up.
Last year, ‘Run to Give’ took place in 109 locations across the Asia Pacific, which involved more than 10,500 associates from 546 properties with nearly 36,700 runners participating, raising over US$400,000 supporting non-profit partners, selected local charities across the Asia Pacific as well as contributed towards Marriott disaster relief efforts.
