When hit single Pisces reached unsuspecting ears the world view of metal shifted just a little bit more into positive territory. Importantly Macro shows that Ukrainians Jinjer are far from a one trick pony. In fact this album only emphasises what a find Tatiana Shmaylyuk and her band mates are. Here we can see just where heavy music is likely to go in the next few years, and it’s a very pleasant if noisy place. That amazing ability to mix subtle beauty with hammer blow brutality is Jinjer’s hallmark and on Macro it shines like a beacon.
