English indie-pop trio is back with their utopian single ‘Baby It’s You’ since their 2017 album ‘Truth Is A Beautiful Thing’. With the help of house music heavyweight George Fitzgerald, the band has put forward their first offering of 2020; which embarks in a London Grammar fashion with a twist.
The three-piece band teased their comeback via social media on the 17th August, by posting a band photograph with the caption ‘Nothing else matters’ which turned out to be lyrics of the single. Following that day, the band also released a small snippet of the single; giving listeners an insight into what London Grammar has produced. Following its premiere on Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World, singer Hannah Reid said via Twitter: ” We are so excited to release our new song Baby It’s You. It’s been a long time coming and is just the beginning of something we hope will be special.”
Throughout the song, Hannah’s lyric dip into a declaration of love and embodies the unicity of the person who is concerned by the song and whom she sings about. Emphasized by her emotive vocals, alongside soulful beats; that is infused by Fitzgerald’s delicate house beats. Hinting the potential of new material, ‘Baby It’s You’ is the perfect way to start their career again through a swirl of club-focused electronics; with a hint of Fitzgerald’s physical nature of steering the band’s sound that amplifies the groups’ presence.
