Salman Rushdie gets Stabbed at an Event!

Salman Rushdie undoubtedly is one of the most famous novelists of all time. He was met by an unfortunate event that took place on 12 August 2022. A man stabbed him multiple times while he was about to give a public lecture at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, New York near Buffalo. His agent Andrew says that his condition is not good. There are complications regarded to his health. Let us reflect on some of his best books written this far:

This book was published in 1988 and sources magic realism in the work of fiction. This book is surrounded by several opinions from the group of people the society bears. This book was published in 1981 and happened to be Rushdie’s second novel. This novel is set against the struggle for India’s independence from foreign rule, which infused British rule in all its aspects. The character introduced by Rushdie named Saleem Sinai was born at midnight when Independence hit India on 15th August 1947. This book brings in the pain, trauma, and chaotic aggravation related to the freedom struggle, and the partition of India into India and Pakistan. A fantastic family saga that was given the best Booker Prize novel in 25 years.

The Ground Beneath Her Feet


This book was published in 1999 and tells the tale culminated in three cities namely, Bombay (Mumbai), London, and New York City which had some important highlights in his life. This is his ambitious and accomplished novel. Three different characters, Vina Apsara, the famous rock singer, Ormus Cama the guitarist, and songwriter who happens to be her lover as well as a band member, and the narrator Rai also a tone-deaf photographer thrive in the novel. This book is crowned as one of his masterpieces. The epic romance between Apsara and Cama is filled with stories, images, myths, anger wisdom, and humor.

This book was published in 2005 and is pictured in Kashmir, which is beautiful with its natural wealth. This novel is about Max Ophuls who used to work in the Kashmir valley, who was shot dead later by his former driver, a mysterious figure who calls himself Shalimar the clown. This is a story of love blended with politics. The narrative of this moves into several places including California, Kashmir, France, England, and then again back to the beginning which is California. This book has a stand as one of the finalists in Britain’s prestigious Whiteboard Book Awards in 2005.

This book was published in 2012 and voices his experience hiding in his memoir. This book is characterized by exceptional frankness, honesty, and vital importance. The events in the book while the book enhances in its early stage, the drama which happens in the book could be the same happening with everybody in the world every day. The book Joseph Anton is compelling yet proactive and moving. The name of the book is a mixture of two of Rushdie’s favorite writers namely Anton Chekhov and Joseph Conard. This memoir journeys his relocation from Bombay (Mumbai) to London to New York.
