Katy Perry is returning to Saturday Night Live later on January 29 after a long pause. This will be her 4 times in the show in line with the pop star booked in as the musical guest for the show’s January episode.
This month’s episode will be hosted by actor Willem Dafoe, marking Perry’s fourth time performing on SNL, after her appearances in 2010, 2013, and 2017 last.
Katy Perry shared about her appearance of SNL on Twitter, indicating the performance would draw on her current Las Vegas residency, PLAY.
She wrote,
‘Can’t wait to bring my slice of Sin City to the Big Apple.’
Starting since last year 29 December Katy Perry’s Las Vegas residency taking over The Theatre at Resorts World resort/casino until mid-March. The opening night of the over-the-top show had displayed Perry to roll out of a 16-foot-tall toilet, ride a giant snail, and more.
Katy Perry’s whole set was featured in the show which includes the likes of ‘California Gurls’, ‘Hot n Cold’, ‘Waking Up in Vegas’, ‘I Kissed a Girl’, ‘Teenage Dream’, ‘Roar’ and more, along with her recently-released Alesso collaboration ‘When I’m Gone’.
Another upcoming SNL musical taking place on January 22 will be staged by Eurovision 2021 winners Måneskin, as their debut with actor Will Forte on hosting it.
Jack Antonoff’s Bleachers were the musical guests for the first Saturday Night Live of 2022 last weekend. He performed ‘How Dare You Want More’ with his father and Bruce Springsteen’s collaboration in ‘Chinatown’.
