Jorja Smith was robbed 7th January, instigating a flurry of infuriated responses from her fans.
The ‘Blue Light’s singer uploaded a clip to her Instagram story with the caption “Whoever robbed me on these streets will receive karma.” Elsewhere, the clip also notes:“Careful with them cute bags,” and “also less talking on the phone while walking.”
The incident has prompted an inundating of support from Jorja Smith’s fanbase, as well as a series of tweets from some fans calling for retribution. “I just wanna fight,” proposed one fan to her invader, whilst another wrote “we gon handle dat shit dont worry . just know”.
20-year-old Smith has now been tipped as a future star, winning the BRITs Crittics’ Choice Award and having already featured on Drake’s More Life and released her own EP ‘Project 11’ in November 2016.
The ‘On My Mind’ singer said describing the honour,: “I cannot believe it, it’s been an unforgettable 2017 during which I’ve fulfilled so many of my dreams and this is such a special way to end the year… and to be part of an all-female shortlist alongside Mabel and Stefflon Don, who’ve both had incredible 2017s, makes it even better!”
