James Franco's Golden Globes Win Overshadowed by Sexual Misconduct Claims

Just days after he turned up to the Golden Globes sporting the #TimesUp pin, which was worn as an indication of good vibes of unity and a no-nonsense attitude towards the violation of women, James Franco has had a series of accusatory sexual misconduct claims made against him.
The high profile actor has had to respond to comments suggesting that he has displayed ‘non-consensual behaviour towards women’ in the past, and that he “exploits” actresses whilst on set.
James, who heard about the claims made against him on Twitter, has spoke out in his defence: “The things that I heard that went on Twitter are not accurate, but I completely support people coming out and being able to have a voice because they didn’t have a voice for so long. I don’t want to shut them down in any way. I think it’s a good thing and I support it.”
During the awards ceremony, which took place on Sunday, James was commended with a Golden Globe, one which saw him win the accolade of Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his participation in The Disaster Artist.
Unfortunately for James, this celebration was short-lived as the accusations came out pretty much straight after the event. Many disgruntled Twitter users, at the time of his win, took to the social media platform to vent about his hypocrisy – they felt it unjust that James chose to wear a #TimesUp pin because of his past incident in 2014, whereby the star had to apologise for chatting up a 17 year old.
