It: Chapter Two

Cast: Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Skarsgard, Bill Hader and more.

We knew this was coming for quite some time now…with the original It film running almost four hours in length two separate releases was always to be expected. With the first film taking place with the “Loser’s Club” being kids, It: Chapter Two is set twenty seven years later, with the loveable cast of the first instalment now all adults, most of whom have gone their separate ways in life and tried to put the horrors of Pennywise the Dancing Clown behind them…Until it comes back again…

With a whole new cast of adult “Losers”, I for one look forward to seeing how the cast manage to develop the characters introduced in the first chapter and also develop them as adults, most of whom still harbouring their own personal traumas from running into the titular It. Bill Skarsgard returns to play It, who most often interacts in the form of Pennywise the Clown, who seeks revenge on the (then) children who defeated him beforehand. With scary visuals but also interesting psychological based scares it’s definitely something to look forward to and having been based on the works of Stephen King you know you’re in for a good time. You could still read the source material if you’re quick (with the novel being around 1400 pages long) but even if you don’t want to you’ll still be in for a good time.
